It's That Time Again...

Sunday 30th November '14

Evening Lovelies! It's been a couple of days since my last post but to be honest now a great deal has happened!

So today is Sunday and we spent the day at the library whilst Freya finished off her essay for university and I applied for some jobs, we're at home now all snuggled up and going to get some dinner in a bit. Let's see, yesterday was Saturday and we had a pretty lazy morning before Freya's choir concert last night! She was wonderful, it was a lovely evening out and I love watching her sing! On Friday we had a pretty busy day to be honest, we had an early start and did a bit of food shopping, then went to the cinema to see the new film "Horrible Bosses 2" we went on the opening day but because we went at like 11:30am it was dead, there were about 2 other people in the cinema! It was so lovely and quiet!

We then had a wander around Westwood Cross, which is like a little shopping place just outside Canterbury where the huge Vue Cinema is! Finished off a bit of Christmas shopping whilst we we're there and then headed home for a shower and relax just before Freya's friends from her Stepps group arrived.
We hosted a little game night with them, it was lovely! It was the first time that I had properly met them! You mostly likely know about Freay's blog about her Stepps Support Group for BPD but if not here is a like to her blog, it is wonderful, informative, funny, serious and just so helpful so check it out! Whether you aren't sure about what's what, are a sufferer yourself or someone who is wanting to help others, it's worth a visit! - http://somewheresouthofcrazy.blogspot.co.uk

Not too much has happened really. But hey, it's December tomorrow which means it's nearly Christmas and that's cool. I like winter, I love being bundled up in so many layers, or sweaters, hats and scarves and coming home and snuggling up in bed with a hot water bottle and loads of teddies it's just wonderful. But I do especially love beanies, I mean I do wear them constantly but it's just that bit more justified when it's chillier! It does make it harder to do things, the weather I mean, not the hats. Like, in winter part of me wants to go out and explore and wrap up and drink hot chocolate outdoors and yeah, but the other half just wants to stay indoors and curl up with Netflix an yummy food. I'm finding the balance, just after I finish watching Family Guy.

I mean and another thing too it's hard being a grown up. I know I'm 19 and whatnot but this photo I found really does show how my mind works. I'm guessing that I'm not the only one! But hey ho, I'm still young right!

I'm sorry that todays post has been pretty all over the place and stuff, but I guess that's how my mind is feeling at the moment, just a bit messy and blurgh, feeling a bit sick and headachey too, so let's hope this goes soon!

Not too much planned for this coming week, need to get writing out Christmas cards and job hunting, but I'm sure I'll let you know how it all goes, not that anyone proabaly reads this to care that much but yeah (I seriously need to stop saying 'but yeah').

Sorry again, but I'll speak to you soon, right after Bird of the Day! Oh and Imma make braised steak for dinner!

Todays choice is...
The Long Tailed Tit! Look at this cutie!
The long-tailed tit is easily recognisable with its distinctive colouring, a tail that is bigger than its body, and undulating flight. Gregarious and noisy residents, long-tailed tits are most usually noticed in small, excitable flocks of about 20 birds. Like most tits, they rove the woods and hedgerows, but are also seen on heaths and commons with suitable bushes. They like to eat insects and occasionally seeds in autumn and winter and they have 340,000 breeding territories in the UK, you can spot them here all year round!

Alright Kiddos,
Speak soon!
:) x

It's Been a While... Take 2 (for real this time)

Wednesday 26th November '14

Welloo There - That's how it sounded in my head, I was supposed to say 'Well Hello There'. Anyhow, it's been a while and I really do apologise, things have been all over the place and a but everywhere recently. This is going to be a bit of a catch up post letting you know whats been going on and really just me getting back into everything, I am still going to aim to write a post every day, even if it's just a short one but if not please bear with me, I will get there!

First things first I guess, thank you so much if you are reading this, I know I haven't kept it up as much as I first intended but like I said, let's try this again, properly this time. Hope you're having a wonderful day, now let's get started...

So since the last time I posted (November 5th) quite a few things have happened, I celebrated my 19th Birthday on November 8th, Freya and I travelled back up north to spend my birthday with my whole family and it was lovely! I haven't seen them for a while and visiting them all was so wonderful! I also got spoilt for my birthday and I really can't wait until christmas to see them all again!

Oh and you may have noticed that my hair is now purple! Plus the whole 'only liking the left side of my face' thing, is still a thing. So I'm now 19, hair is purple, hmmm what else.

Oh, for Valentines Day, yes 9 months ago, Freya got me the wonderful gift of an Owl Experience, where you can fly and handle all of the owls. It was booked for up north but every time we've been up previously we haven't been able to fit in going to do the day trip! But finally, and timing it with my birthday, we managed to get there and it was such a wonderful day! I did something similar when I was 10 with birds of prey, including owls, but it was so lovely to have a day full of owls, they're my favourite!

I got to hold all kinds, from Eagle Owls to Boobook Owls and it was amazing! The guy who runs the centre was lovely, kinda looks like a cuddly Wolverine! He owned all of the owls and was so passionate about them and answered so many questions. Overall it was such a brilliant experience, then we have some lunch in a cute little cafe before heading off to Freya's other Mum, who lives in Worcester near Birmingham!

When visiting we had an early Christmas lunch as we won't be seeing that side of Freya's family until after Christmas. They have guinea pigs so the we so much fun to cuddle! It was such a nice and calm day and we then headed back down to Canterbury. The rest of the time has just consisted of getting back into the swing of things and relaxing, spending lots of tie at the library to help Freya get her Uni work done and looking into work opportunities for me. It's going pretty well :)

But anyways, I know this one isn't as interesting or fun as some of the blogposts I've done before but I'm just getting back into the swing of things!

Bird of the day time and them I'm off folks! Remember...

In light of my Owl Experience and you probably not knowing what a Boobook Owl is, take a look!

<-- Look at this cutie!
Generally nocturnal, roosts by day in thick foliage. When threatened, they sit bolt upright, with feathers pressed tight against the body, and turn side-on to the source of the threat, appearing long and slender. Generally feeds on small mammals, especially the House Mouse Mus musculus, and birds up to the size of a House Sparrow.

Hope you have a wonderful evening and stay safe kiddos! :) Speak soon*

*promise!

This is going to take some getting used to.

Saturday 18th October '14

So today's been a weird one... I guess a first day back at work always is.
But hey - it's a Saturday, that means dress down and well, this selfie a day might become a thing too.

Getting settled back in at your desk - vigorously cleaning it as said desk is filthy because someone decided to sit there whilst you were away. Repeatedly again cleaning said desk as god knows who sat there/ what they did/ eew was it that weird guy who sits with his hands down his pants, oh god maybe it was him, oh lord. But anyways besides the point - I work mainly on the telephone and if my mind being pre-occupied on the dirty desk wasn't enough, I was then stumbled when it came to answering the phone... "um hi" was the first thing I blurted out before my mind automatically reverted back to "work mode" and began spewing out generic "drilled into your head and never to be forgotten" scripts that seem to spin around my head when they needn't be there but the one time they do, like a lot of things I guess, "um hi" decides to make an appearance. Aren't I such a professional!

Along with the whole desk malarkey found out today that due to a team switch over I will be moving desks... "how wonderful" was obviously my first reaction, now I had to clean that one and get it fully organised and rearranged and, no no no, it isn't next to the window! I don't know about you but the one escape from an office environment, besides standing outside with the smokers on your break, trying to disguise your spluttering at the smoke as a tickle cough, it being there to gaze out of the window as the traffic flies past and people watch as you wait for a call to come through or even to just zone out whilst people ramble on at you. You had that freedom, to just alienate yourself in an instant. But now, I have to re-establish myself, this is going to be harder than it sounds. But change is good right?

"Dear Mr Window Seat, I hope your next occupant fully appreciates your skills and abilities as much as I do, I shall glance over as I walk past you on my way into work, but I won't think too much about you as this is hard enough for both of us without any added stress. I miss you dearly, I hope life treats you well. So long - Your Once Faithful Occupier."

Wow... That went a little bit further than I imagined. So I guess I loved that window seat in all its glory, I mean the same can't be said for aeroplane seats, but let's not go into that today! For both mine and your sakes!

Besides from work today I ate spaghetti hoops, called my parents for a chat at lunch (I miss them so much, they're still up North, but I see them soon for my birthday), snuggled with the hamster and my girl, that's all you need in an evening really! Oh and Freya cleaned the entire kitchen whilst I was work, I mean if that isn't something to come home to I don't know what is, that was such a relief!

I was almost too sleepy to write this but, I guess once you stop you can't pop, no wait... In all honesty I'm knackered and I'm surprised I'm still awake! But at least I have tomorrow off work - god, it's my first day back and I already have a day off!

But hey guys, I saw this today and I loved it - because come on, some days it is so ridiculously hard to pull yourself up and out of bed, and I mean even if you don't manage to do a whole lot, you've done so well to even just accomplish the tiniest of tasks. If all you have done today is lay in bed and surf the net or read this then, hey you, I'm proud of you!

So munchkins, even if you just do a few of those things today you have accomplished great things! Tomorrow you may manage more, or even less, but no matter how few or how little, well done.

So let's keep going as I started yesterday and here is my bird of the day - Today, say hello to the Red Kite. Look how beautiful he is! They are a bird of prey with a wingspan of around 2 meters long! That's more than my height (5' 7" if you're nosey). I have so many fond memories of going to see the Red Kites in Wales with my family on several holiday trips when I was little! They eat small animals, birds and worms. Living in primarily wooden areas, even wetlands and valleys but are rapidly declining in numbers due to habitat loss and pesticide usage.
So there we go, another day gone.
I'll see you again tomorrow, stay safe, stay cool and most of all stay you.

Have a lovely day kiddos!
Catch you later.

I've got to start somewhere...

Friday 17th October '14. First Blog Post.

Hey There!
Welcome to my blog - Just My Daily Nonsense.
So this is nerve racking... But everyones got to start somewhere eh! So here it goes -
Oh and as you can see I tend to favour the left side of my face...

My name is Hannah, I'm currently 18 years old (soon to be 19 on November 8th! *hint hint*) I have a not so discrete obsession with birds and I'm a Northerner living in the South (of England that is)! I'm looking to start a new project and just really keep myself occupied and see how things pan out... So wish me luck eh! Oh and my hair is pink at the moment!

This blog is really just going to consist of what I get up to on a daily basis - my views, experiences, thoughts, work, what I had for lunch, how great my evening snuggles were and probably most of all living with the fact that at the moment I have such an urge to clean and my goodness it's draining! Believe me I love cleaning but sometimes I need my head to relax and realise that the dishwasher is empty and clean so there's no need to check or go back and do it again for that matter. But enough about that for now. I want you to actually come back and read this blog - not be weirded out or anything... Maybe too late.

But Hey Ho, Let me tell you about the wonderful few days that me and my fiancee have had in Durdle Door, Dorset. Freya and I currently live in Canterbury and whilst I had some time off work and University for her wasn't too busy we booked 4 nights away to stay in a beautiful little wooden pod on a breath-taking campsite about 3 hours away from us. The little pod was just the perfect size, we had so many blankets and duvets bundled up to make sure we kept warm - the cutest little porch on which many a tin of beans, or if we were feeling adventurous, spaghetti hoops were cooked. Anyways we spent our days there just reconnecting with nature, going to sleep and waking up as the sun does, distancing ourselves from technology and any unecessary stress. We went for plenty of walks and sipped on hot chocolate as we did, we visited animal shelters and sealilfe parks and many a nature reserve. We drove out to Weymouth SeaLife Centre, Blue Pool Nature Reserve, also went to see Gone Girl and Annabelle in a little local Cinema.

What I'd give to be back there now - even though it rained for a solid 48 hours during our visit, that doesn't matter, we felt calm and at peace, even though I made Freya help me clean the car after the rain, I even felt less inclined to then clean. It was in a way lovely to come back home to a memory foam mattress and warmth, but saddening I guess to then leave the calm that we had created behind. So coming back to city traffic and well, just general busyness was a pretty big shock. But I suppose we need to get away and experience different senses of life to appreciate what we have or even what we could eventually have.
Anyways back to work and back to reality tomorrow and I need to get back into a routine,  with work, gym, fun? It's harder than you were ever taught, how to juggle a balanced and worthy lifestyle, such as never learning "actual world skills" in schools etc.. - about that - I could probably do with actually getting into more of a routine, now I'm going off on a tangent but long story short - how do I structure my life enough so that I actually get things done but then on the other hand not be too regimented, let's hope I figure that out sooner rather than later...

But back to reality now I guess - I'm sat in bed waiting to watch Family Guy and trying to stop myself from going to wipe down the kitchen and the bathroom again (but hey - we bought some "Christmas Winter Spiced" anti-bacterial wipes today, I don't think that's helped the matter as they smell SO good!) so this is Good Night from me!

I know this must be a terrible first blog post - but please do come back, I do plan on becoming more interesting!

Stay safe and have a great day!

Oh and just before I go - Like I said earlier I'm obsessed with birds so at the end of every post I'm going to post a little photo and description of a bird - feel free to scroll past, but I just want to pass on a passion that I have and hope that others maybe smile at it.

This is a Blue Tit - They're only about 12cm in size and are widely distruibuted around the UK, Europe, Moscow and even North Africa. They're amongst the commonest of tits (hehe, shush) and can live upto 15 years! They are distinguished by a bright blue head (crown) with white cheeks and a yellow underbelly and can often be seen on garden feeders snacking on nuts, seeds, fruit and insects.

'Til next time!
